Buying our haven house

Everyone says, “when it’s the right house, you’ll just know”. I used to roll my eyes at this saying - it’s so cliché. And yet, when Bryce & I were searching for our house, it wasn’t right, it wasn’t right, and then finally, it was.

Looking back, we had it pretty easy. We bought in 2019, before the covid-craziness. We thought the market was “hot” when we had to put in an offer the same day as a viewing. Ha! Looking back, I realize how easy we had it.

I was confident about buying a house that needed work. I wanted a place we could make OURS. Something we could leave our mark on. I knew this was our home the minute we walked into this seventies bungalow. Her cozy rooms, gorgeous light, and unique back garden charmed me immediately. The sponge paint, busy wallpaper, and holly bushes, not so much.
